There are tales of a dark plane containing dark creatures, some of which are so large they can eat worlds whole and thus are called “World Eaters”. There is fear among esoteric scholars that a tear or rift into another plane could accidentally release the World Eaters and that worlds may all perish over time because this outcome is inevitable.
